February 7, 2025 was an absolutely gorgeous day in the small fishing village of Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. Although the sun was out and the ocean breeze was cool, the beauty of this day was captured by the Samana Smiles Foundation annual fundraiser. Through the efforts of the committee, volunteers and dedicated supporters, $50,000.00 was raise for medical care for children in Las Terrenas. 100% of the money raised and donated throughout the year goes to life saving and life changing medical care for children in need here in Las Terrenas.
For the second year in row, Manabao Roasters had the privilege of being a silver sponsor. Our goal this year is to raise $15,000.00 through your support of our Manabao Coffee.
Baby Isreal and his father, Miguel were there to celebrate and support Samana Smiles. Since birth, Baby Israel required a colostomy bag to survive. Through all four of his surgeries to repair his intestine , Baby Israel showed strength and bravery. Now he is free to run and play like any other child.
While the food, the venue and the company were wonderful, the shared knowledge of making a difference for the children in our community is a moment that all of the donors will cherish for a lifetime.
